See how one woman reimagined and renovated her childhood farmhouse

It isn't every day that someone gets the opportunity to purchase their childhood home. Sentimentality and memories, whether they are good or bad, often make it difficult to return to living into the home of their youth. However, when the location is right and the structure of the home is sound, a little elbow grease and a lot of heart can transform that childhood residence into a home for the future.
This is exactly what Kate and her family choose to do when her parent's finally decided to let go of the home place. Kate was keen to transform the dated farmhouse into a modern space that reflected her style and her families needs. The slogan on her blog, "Back to Blueberry Hill" explains this perfectly, 'Breathing New Life Into My Childhood Home'. The entire home received a fresh coat of neutral gray paint and the trim was painted a fresh white. It is simply amazing to see how much difference paint can make in a dated space.

The dining room is truly stunning with its surround of windows dressed in taupe and white striped curtain panels. In fact, the entire home is a testament to what a childhood home can become.
