Walk up the steps of this magnificent Craftsman. Don't miss the dreamy kitchen

Craftsman homes have been around since 1901, according to Arts & Crafts Style, and get their name from Gustav Stickley's magazine, The Craftsman. Plans for these homes were originally published in that magazine from 1901 to 1916. Since that time, a number of homes have been built in the same fashion as the ones published in Stickley's magazine and have also been given the name Craftsman homes.
This home, located in Seattle, was built in 1912 and is a magnificent example of a Craftsman home. Among the earmarks of a Craftsman home are the generous front porch, the wood shingle siding, and the multi-pane windows. The entry walkway and steps invite all those who pass by to come and sit awhile on the covered porch.

Beautiful support beams and a white rail compliment the dark wood of the porch. Plenty of room is available to entertain those who would sit a while.
With 4,000 square feet (372 square meters) of space inside the house, Redfin points out that the inside of the home feels just as spacious as the front porch does.
The open floor plan, another earmark of Craftsman homes, keeps the home feeling spacious. Wainscoting is used throughout the home and blends tastefully with shades of brown, warming up the large spaces.
Although each room has radiators for heat, a fireplace adds a nice touch of ambiance in the den.
If you were impressed with the rest of the house, the kitchen will take your breath away. Newly remodeled, the countertops are done in granite slabs; and high end appliances are every cook's dream.
The backsplashes are also done in granite slabs.
Beautiful windows let in plenty of natural light to the formal dining room.
The master bedroom makes up only one of the home's five bedrooms and has two walk-in closets.
The master bath has also been fully remodeled and has a claw foot tub, Carrera marble and a dual-headed shower.
Not as lavish as the master bedroom, this bedroom is still quite beautiful.
A second of the three-and-a-half bathrooms contained in the home, this one has granite countertops, two sinks, and appears to have the original tile.
None of the bedrooms are tiny, so even the smallest ones have plenty of space.
A cozy sitting area is perfect for a couple to curl up with a good movie.
Not only does this home have a beautiful interior and exterior, but it also has a phenomenal view. From it, the homeowners can see Mount Rainier. With this home comes the quality craftsmanship of the early 1900s and the beauty of newly remodeled rooms with great views. What more could a person want?
