This shingled 1917 Craftsman home is anything but ordinary: The bathroom is pure bliss

This shingle style home in Maryland dates back to 1917, but it was recently expanded upon by Gardner Architects LLC. The four-story addition gave the owners plenty of extra living space, but according to Houzz, the update was done with the intention of retaining the original elegance and character of the home.
The stately front porch was original to the home, and the addition to the home was designed to maximize the impact of this entryway. An earthy color scheme gives the home plenty of curb appeal.

The gorgeous exterior of the home features plenty of charming details, including saw-tooth shingle siding and exposed rafters. Here, you can see some of the home's craftsman windows, which are original to the home and were carefully refurbished when the home was updated.
The kitchen is the central hub of the home, with plenty of space to cook, eat, and socialize. The hardwood floors are just gorgeous, and the room gets plenty of natural light thanks to the south-facing windows.
A large stone hearth around the stove is the focal point of the room, filling the space with a warm, inviting atmosphere.
Even more seating space is found in the formal dining room, located just off the entryway. All of the wood trim is original to the home, and it was left unpainted but carefully restored during the expansion.
From this angle, you can see the cozy library tucked away behind the dining room. You also get a glimpse of the coffered ceiling in the top left corner!
The master bedroom is decorated in a beautiful, earthy color scheme with green walls, white trim, and dark wood furniture. A row of large windows along the back wall fill the room with natural light.
Here we have the master bathroom, which is quite possibly the most luxurious part of the home. The room features beautiful blue tile throughout, and a large tub sits in the corner, surrounded by windows.
This covered porch is an outdoor extension of the home, with plenty of room to sit and eat or relax. The sitting area next to the curtains on the right is particularly charming!
A large pool sits next to the covered porch - perfect for cooling off during the hot Maryland summer.
