Go back in time in a Gettysburg farmhouse where elegance meets rustic charm

Even if you're not a fan of history you have likely heard of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and it's role in the American Civil War. The land surrounding this notable US town is steeped in stories of the past and it is only natural that its homes reflect that as well, even those that have been recently built. One of this new-meets-old Gettysburg homes is a 2500 square foot build called Grim Farmhouse.
Its exterior is a deep red siding accented by a black metal roof. A generous porch surrounds the home on three sides and offers a cool place to rest and take in the outdoors. Its two-story design includes three spacious bedrooms, a country kitchen and open concept living and dining room. There are many custom touches in the home that incorporate the past and were made by local craftsman. Substantial beams, taken from a barn that was torn down 20 years ago, add texture and depth to the living room. A custom range hood in the kitchen was fashioned out of metal, rather than stainless steel or wood. It's these features, among many others, that make this beautiful farmhouse a truly memorable one.

A clawfoot tub, complete with time-honored patina, sits below a window in this simple bathroom.
The bathroom offers a creative solution for separating the bathtub and shower, a dividing wall inspired by the design of an old horse stall and accented with a repurposed newel post.
