Look inside at one family's renovation of their 1902 Victorian farmhouse

A dream home doesn't always start out that way, often it involves the demolition and restoration of a true architectural beauty before it can fulfill those dreams. This type of transformation also requires a family who is adventurous enough to take on the challenge. So, with two little ones in tow, Christina Hibbs, of the Instagram account 'Christina's Adventures' and her husband began renovating their 1902 Victorian in 2014. As they peeled back copious amounts of wallpaper and layers of plush 1980's carpet they slowly uncovered the hidden gem underneath. One of the most impressive finds was the decorative hardwood floors, original to the home, that composed of three types of wood: chestnut, walnut and maple. These floors can be seen throughout the home, both upstairs and down. While the exterior renovation is yet to take place the home does boast 3 impressive porches.
Once the home's foundational repairs had taken place, Christina finally had the opportunity finish the home in her refined farmhouse style. Wood plank ceilings, barn doors, Subway tile, industrial lighting and a gorgeous copper sink are just a few of the materials used in the home's renovation. The end result is a fresh take on farmhouse design located within the walls of a 114-year-old home.

The newly-renovated kitchen features all the necessary elements of a farmhouse kitchen: Shaker-style cabinetry, a farmhouse sink, Subway tile and rustic open shelving.
The kitchen's white Subway tile was installed with a dark gray grout to add interest.
The dining room features a long wood table complete with a reclaimed church pew for additional seating.
Just of the kitchen is this adorable bathroom. It was been tiled in the same style as the kitchen and painted with a dark navy accent.
The master bedroom features an impressive row of windows that allow lots of natural light to fill the space.
