See how one interior designer transformed her historic farmhouse from top to bottom

This impressive two-story farmhouse is home base for Katrina Morris, a mother, wife and interior designer with an eye for elegant rustic design. Just one of her recent renovations is the kitchen. What was once a dingy and dated space, complete with worn wood cabinets and a laminate countertop, is now truly inspirational. The kitchen features a combination of glass-front upper cabinetry and open shelving which provides the perfect opportunity for displaying country collectibles and dishware. Subway tile, installed from countertop to ceiling, contrasts beautifully with the warm stone countertops. In addition, the room is centered around a spacious island with easy seating for four. Hardwood flooring with a swirling wood grain ground the space and continue through to the dining room.
Another memorable space is the recently completed master bedroom. A simple color palette of cream, white and a soft green-gray create a delicate, inviting atmosphere. To create the illusion of greater ceiling height, draperies have been hung close to the ceiling, above the windows. Light wood flooring and trimwork allow the texture and pattern of the wood to shine through for that perfect balance of rustic and modern. One must become a follower on Facebook to keep updated with the impressive renovations of this interior designer.
