Tour Mary Casa Chic's home

Packing up house and moving to a new home is never easy. While the process involves the mundane tasks of cleaning and organizing, it also creates the positive opportunities like recounting cherished memories. If you enjoy interior design and decorating then another fun aspect of moving is setting up house and letting the inspiration flow. For the photographer and decorator behind the Instagram account, Mary Casa Chic, moving is simply part of life for her military family and she appears to make the most of it.
Their current home is a beautiful two-storey residence with plenty of farmhouse appeal. Its cool gray color scheme is found in the siding, stonework and shingles while pops of white and black add a little drama. But that is just the beginning because once you step inside be prepared to be dazzled.

In keeping with the exterior color scheme the interior is awash in soft grays and whites with a few hits of deep blue and black. Architectural details like crown molding, curved doorways and coffered ceilings provide a formal backdrop to the home's rustic decor. It's refreshing to see how Mary has taken many builder-grade details, tweaked them and created a look that curated and bespoke. The living room is particularly charming with its lofty ceilings and soothing fireplace. The addition of a shiplap section above the fireplace accentuates the ceiling height, as well as providing a textured background for seasonal decor. Each room has been carefully decorated to take advantage of the home's large windows and ceiling height. Without a doubt, Mary's chic casa is noteworthy Instagram farmhouse to be sure.

The first room to your left as you enter the home is the formal dining room. The simple decor of the space showcases the crisp white trimwork and coffered ceiling.

The one room that Mary hasn't yet tackled is the kitchen. However, a few rustic touches bring it one step closer to farmhouse chic.
