Three log cabins crafted in British Columbia offer cozy respite in Rasen, Italy

John Johnson started building log homes in British Columbia, Canada, in 1969. Its Cariboo region was one of the first to build log homes and ship the pieces around the world, and Johnson’s business, soon to be known as Sitka Log Homes took off. Fifty years later – now run by John’s son Brad – Sitka Log Homes is creating high-end custom homes from its Canada worksite for installation across the globe.
One of those installations stretches all the way to Rasen, Italy, where Sitka Log Homes created three small log cabins for Camping Corones. The small Northern Italy town lies at the entrance of the Anterselva Valley, where visitors are taken aback by its scenic landscapes and natural beauty. The cabins offer just enough room in a cozy atmosphere.

The chalets were created from natural building materials such as Douglas Fir, cedar roof shakes and soft textiles within. The chalets sleep up to six people, boasting two bathrooms, a spacious living area and a sun patio.
In the living room, a fireplace adds to the charm. The open space offers room for a sofa, coffee table and eating area.
The bathroom features a handmade wooden bathtub, perfectly complementing the log wall. A pedestal sink in porcelain white enhances the country aesthetic.
A small seating area at the top of the landing offers a quiet spot to enjoy morning coffee by the bay window or read an afternoon book.

The second floor offers a spacious deck to take in the outdoors from above.
